Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstructive surgery aims to restore function and appearance to areas of the body affected by trauma, congenital abnormalities, disease, or previous surgical interventions. It includes procedures such as breast reconstruction after mastectomy, facial reconstruction following injuries or congenital deformities (like cleft lip and palate), and burn reconstruction to restore skin and tissue. Other common types include hand and upper extremity surgery for trauma or congenital conditions, and microsurgery for repairing complex tissue damage. The goal is to improve both functionality and aesthetics, often requiring a multidisciplinary approach to address physical, psychological, and emotional aspects of recovery.
