Phalloplasty

Phalloplasty is a complex surgical procedure that involves the construction or reconstruction of a penis, often performed as part of gender-affirming surgery for transgender men or non-binary individuals. The surgery can also be used for individuals who have experienced injury or congenital conditions. Phalloplasty typically uses tissue from other parts of the body, such as the forearm, thigh, or abdomen, to create a neopenis. The procedure may include the creation of a urethra for urination, placement of erectile implants for sexual function, and aesthetic shaping. It is usually performed in multiple stages, requiring careful planning, a skilled surgical team, and post-operative care to achieve functional and aesthetic results.
