Radu Moldovanu, completed several postgraduated courses in Romania and abroad to specialize in laparoscopic and oncologic digestive surgery. He accomplished his PhD thesis Pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy, in 2007. From 2010 he is working in France, as senior surgeon in Department of Surgery from Les Bonnettes Hospital, Arras, France. He’s domains of interests are: colorectal surgery, abdominal wall surgery, pancreatic surgery, laparoscopic surgical education. He was lecturer on different national and international surgical meetings. He published as author and co-author over 70 papers and 3 monographs. He is an Honorific Ambassador of Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and also Honoured with Marquis Who′s Who in medicine.

Dr. Francesco Izzo received his medical degree from the University of Naples, Federico II Medical School, Italy. Dr. Izzo has been on the faculty in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of Naples, Italy since completing his fellowship. He is now Associate Professor of Surgery, Responsible and Coordinator of the Hepatobiliary Surgery and chief of Liver Tumor Study Group at the National Cancer Institute of Naples, Italy. Dr. Izzo has been a pioneer in designing new treatments for patients with liver tumors, including radiofrequency ablation, improved techniques for surgical removal of liver cancers, and several types of direct tumor injection therapy.

Kent Choung Choi, became a trauma/critical care attending at the University of Iowa following his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Washington University 2001, currently serve as the surgical director in the SICU at the University of Iowa since 2005. He established and currently direct an ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship as well as the Director in the Division of Acute Care Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospital.

He is a Member of the Center for Research in General and Laparoscopic Surgery - Iasi, Romania, Member in Scientific research teams in 2 CNCSIS Research Grants and 1 CEEX Research Grant, Romanian Society of Surgeons, Society of Physicians and Natural Sciences – Iasi, Romanian Society of Endoscopy, International Association of Surgeons Gastroenterologists and Oncologists, International Federation of European Societies of Digestive Surgery, International Society of Surgeons.

Steve is also the Managing Director of tJun 17 Life Sciences, LLC, an organization that facilitates the global commercialization of early stage medical technologies. He worked with Critical Therapeutics on the development and commercialization of treatments for gram-negative sepsis. Dr. Amato holds an AB in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Boston College’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and an MBA from the Carroll School of Graduate Management at Boston College. He has received the US Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) designation and is a Consultant for the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS).

Dr Bentrem is currently Associate Professor of Surgery at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a staff physician at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. His research focuses on the development of quality measures in cancer surgery. This work is funded by a Career Development Award from the Health Services Research Division of the Veterans Administration. He is currently on the Public Policy Committee for the Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and served as an instructor with the American College of Surgeons for the High 5s international surgical safety project.
